CAI Exloo 2024

  • 01 April 2024

From 27 to 31 March 2024, Gerard Horst participated in the CAI competition at Exloo with 8-year-old Stapleford Shake A Leg.
A nice competition, well organised and under fine terrain and weather conditions.
Shake A Leg was looking forward to the dressage test and did very well, but unfortunately the rider made two clear round faults, which meant that a good result in the dressage test was out of the question: 80.73 penalty points and last place.
The next day, the marathon went considerably better. The A section could be run 'on slippers' within the time limit. Due to personal circumstances, we were a bit late at the start of the B-track, but did not make any mistakes in the obstacles, but opted for too long lines and too low speed, which ultimately resulted in a fair amount of penalties.
The skills test on the final day was ridden clear (1 out of 2 !), but again with a time penalty.

In the end, we still moved up a place in the final ranking and went home feeling satisfied and fulfilled.
