Participation in combined driving Greven - Bockholt (Germany)
-
03 June 2025

Driving club ‘St. Martin’ Greven-Bockholt organised its annual combined driving competition from May 29 to June 1, including a section for para-drivers, for which 10 para-drivers had signed up. Because of the beautiful venue, the good competition organisation and a limited travel distance, Gerard Horst, supported by his groom Lynley Benneker with Stapleford Shake A Leg, took part in this para class.
The dressage test went reasonably well, unfortunately with some sloppiness. The test was judged with 61.25 % and therefore 63.20 penalty points, resulting in the 5th place.
In the marathon, the A-track was replaced by an entry course. The B section of the marathon was completed faultlessly within the time limits with a total of 95.15 time penalty points in the obstacles. This also resulted in the 5th place.
In the cones test, one ball was thrown off and an overrun of the time allowed. This resulted in 10.30 penalty points and the 4th place.
With a final total of 168.65 penalty points 5th place was earned in the para section. With points for improvement in all three sections, we still felt satisfied with the competition. Thanks to the good competition organisation and the great help of my regular groom Lynley Benneker and in the marathon ground groom Gerard Benneker.
