From 10 to 12 May 2024, the Greven Bockholt Fahrturnier 2024 took place with the following classes:
- Single and pairs horses and ponies in classes A and M (in the Netherlands classes L and M),
- LP para-horses class M and
- the youth classes, which will also be held at the European Youth Championships in Flyinge (in Sweden July 2024).
For the para classes, 10 para drivers had signed up, including Gerard Horst with the Hackney Stapleford Shake A Leg. A great number for a real battle !
The dressage track looked brilliant. However, no guarantee of a good result. When we saluted in the test, the chairman of the jury came to announce that we were excluded from placing in the dressage, because we were riding with a bar belt (2nd noseband), as is customary in the Netherlands and with the FEI. In Germany, this is no longer allowed in classes A and M. The FEI dressage test was run at a national competition and so the national (German) rules applied.
The cones test went well and almost entirely according to plan. Well within time, but unfortunately a ball fell on gate 16. Three penalty points, but a 2nd place.
The marathon also went well. The obstacles looked beautiful and the terrain conditions were fine. Just above the minimum time, the 6 obstacles were completed with a total penalty point score of 102.86, giving 4th place in the marathon.
