On 22 and 23 June 2024, Gerard Horst, as a para-mender, competed with Stapleford Shake A Leg in the combined driving competition at Haaksbergen.
As usual for a 2-day competition, the dressage and cones were driven on the first day. The dressage on fairly heavy track went reasonably well and with a rating of 58.8% (65.87 penalty points), Gerard was satisfied. Then the conjes was run on 22 June on a track, which was a bit wet and slippery. Despite this, only one ball was thrown off, but with some carelessness in the driving route, there was a considerable time overrun. In the end, the cones test yielded 21.04 penalty points.
Unfortunately, Gerard had to cancel for the marathon on 23 June. Serious physical complaints made it impossible for him to take up the reins again. Unfortunately.
